This piece conforms to the space in which it is installed. Here it is in a corner of Ford Gallery at Eastern Michigan University. From a distance, "By the Side of the Road at the Edge of Town" looks like a meadow full of life. Up close you notice the plastic and metal staples and the wall outlet.
