12' h x 14' w x 10' d
2010
This installation is response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico of 2010. The lighting gradually switched between black lights and spotlights. Under black light, the objects in this installation look like a bioluminescent deep sea creatures. As the spotlights gradually come on, viewers can see that in actuality these are all petroleum-based throwaways such as water bottles, bubble wrap, and party favors.
